• City of Kelowna Civic and Community Awards

Very quickly on City Council you realize that Celebrating the great things that our citizens do is by far one of the most important roles you get to play.
Tonight we held the 40th Annual Civic Awards at the soon to be rebuild (well at least before it turns 100 :) Kelowna Community Theatre.

So many good people were recognized. Some of them I am overjoyed to note that they are not only great citizens but also my friends.

Brilliant to see Shelley Gilmore, Noel Wentworth, Antony Knight, and all nominees and winners get recognized.

I was sad to see Shawn Talbot and St Hubert’s Winery not win but such is the tough job that the committee has to sort through every year. Hats off to those who volunteer for the various award committees. There are simply so many amazing examples of great citizens who work hard, volunteer, and genuinely make this city the gem that it is.

Here is the official release of the winners from tonight. I truly hope to see your name on here in the years to come.
